MEMORIES OF A LITTLE KID Being only
seven years old when Piesse Brook School closed down, my memories are only a
collection of little ones. I
remember…….. |
I remember
……… Lining up on
the drive-way when the bell went – girls in the front and boys at the back. I
also remember the skinned knees when one of the boys in the back row would take
this opportunity to give us a shove and send us flying down the bank. The nature
walks with Miss Loaring and also getting into trouble for picking the heads off
the flag flower bush to make whistles (my first encounter with a
conservationist – before I even knew what one was!) I
remember………. Going to see
the Queen. I don’t remember actually seeing
the Queen but that was probably because I was looking for someone with a crown
wearing a purple velvet cloak with a white fluffy trim! My memories
of Piesse Brook School, although not many are all happy ones (apart from the
skinned knees) and mostly I remember the two special teachers I had – Mrs
Schook and Miss Loaring.
